Coastal Air, new short-term letting division launched

Category Newsletter: Article

Coastal Property Group is delighted to announce the launch of a new short-term letting division, Coastal Air that will cover key areas of the sought-after Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl in Cape Town.

This has come in response to rising demand, especially for holiday accommodation ahead of the fast approaching tourist season, says Daniel Sher, manager of the division.

Sher has a background in the hospitality industry having worked for 5-star establishments such as the Mount Nelson, 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa and Singita Sabi Sabi. He says that the Cape tourism sector is one of the most exciting in the country and recent reports confirm that tourism is on an upward trajectory. Expectations are that Cape Town should see a good tourist season this summer, he adds.

For property owners, this is excellent news as they are able to capitalise on short term rental returns. While Airbnb is one of the most exciting booking platforms that offers exposure and access to visitors from across the world, there are many aspects and intricacies that come with short-term letting, especially if you are a property investor, says Sher. Owning a rental investment apartment is not quite the same as simply renting out a room in your house to the odd visitor.

Property investors take their property holdings seriously and are increasingly looking to partner with short-term rental agents such as Coastal Air who can assist them beyond just the Airbnb listing. Sher says that in addition to listing all properties on Airbnb, Coastal Air provides added value with a full bouquet of services. We tailor make a solution to suit the property needs of our clients. This ranges from managing the actual property to sourcing and managing guests.

Sher says that the service offering extends to the ongoing marketing of your property for optimal occupancy along with screening of guests to ensure that your property is looked after. We also manage the guest experience including the many administrative aspects such as key storage, collection and drop-offs, pre- and post-inspections and aspects such as cleaning and can even provide a concierge and laundry service, depending on the property owner and guest needs.

As part of our management services, we could also look after the maintenance needs, so really, says Sher, there is a whole range that the property owner can choose from. The added benefit is that Coastal Property Group is synonymous with efficient property management services to the Cape Town property market that encompasses more than 23 years of operating across the city's top end areas such as the Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl.

While the Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl are now the most popular holiday hot spots, Sher says, that there is also quite a bit of competition, so the sooner property owners get their properties listed the better. Bookings are now in full swing and you do not want to lose out on a potential booking.

All properties are visited and a full consultation done with the owner ahead of the listing, so be sure to give us a call today.
